The Nostalgic 90's
Posted on 12 May 2017
For those of us who can remember, the 1990s were a pretty magical time. The rise of pop music and abundance of sitcoms made for some good times during this era. While there was some questionable fashion trends during this time, there was also a special quality about the minimalistic and bold fashion choices that came out of the 90s that have either came back or still remain due to their timeless qualities. The 90s marked an era where many women established the title of style icon and trendsetter because of their on point fashion choices. This time period gave us an abundance of fashion forward women to choose from, but we narrowed it down to our favorites from different industries.

If you grew up in the 90s, there's a good chance that at one point in time you wanted to grow up to be a Spice Girl. With catchy songs and wild outfits to match each of the 5 personas, the Spice Girls offered a little bit of everything to those who were fans of female pop. When trends from the 90's came back in full force during the 2010's, it is of little surprise that much of what became available from fashion retailers can be spotted on the Spice Girls more than a decade earlier, talk about Girl Power.

In the summer of 1995, the cult classic Clueless was released. Alicia Silverstone was one of the ultimate 90's babes, and she played the part of Cher Horowitz with perfection. Cher and Dionne remain as a classic best friend duo, and in true Beverly Hills fashion, showed that they also knew how to revamp someone's look by transforming Tai's wardrobe. From their iconic matching plaid ensembles to Cher's red party dress to the school girl-chic velvet outfits pictured here, in virtually every scene of Clueless there's a totally 90's outfit that can still be worn today.
Television Trendsetter: Hilary Banks

Will Smith drew in audiences on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air with his jokes but what was no laughing matter was the seriously stylish outfits of his on-screen cousin Hilary Banks. While Will may have been the prince, Hilary was the style queen with some fresh attire. The character of Hilary Banks considered shopping as her sport and never let herself be seen in anything that wasn't up to date. What we do love about the style of Hilary Banks was her wardrobe range of dressed up business wear with chic blazers and sexy yet tasteful dresses. She was also able to pull off an impressive array of hats.

Before some of the Victoria's Secret Angels became household names and before the rise of millennial superstar models, there was a group of supermodels who rocked the catwalk and graced the covers of multiple magazines which launched them into the realm of celebrity. At almost every big high end red carpet event, you can find a celebrity wearing Versace. In 1994, some of the biggest models in the world such as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Carla Bruni (Bella Hadid's look alike), Linda Evangelista, and Claudia Schiffer walked in the designer's runway. Versace captured the glamour and fun the 90's these models embody this vibe perfectly. Not only were these models goddesses at their profession but they also made fashion statements off the runway which is why they are some of our favorite models from the 90s.
